Throughout
it's nearly 40 year history, Dantel has been known for providing
reliable, efficient, and economical remote monitoring solutions for the
telecom and power service providers. Most recently, we have
raised the bar for monitoring outside plant (OSP) in these and other
industries by providing innovative solutions for the most demanding
environments.
At the forefront of our OSP offerings is the WebMon
Edge. The Edge requires only six watts and "runs cool",
allowing for retrofit in virtually any equipment cabinet with no impact
on cabinet environmentals. Coupled with its small footprint, and
various mounting alternatives, the Edge is a perfect addition to OSP
facilities of all types. Recent applications to both new and
existing outside equipment cabinets include AMR, ADSL, and power
distribution nodes. Other unique rough terrain type applications
include the WebMon ESP (Extra Sensory Protection) capable of full
operation utilizing only battery/solar power.
One of the most advanced abilities is the WebMon program
suite that provides Energy Cost Management for large industrial
sites. Power usage effectiveness (PUE) is key to minimizing
operational costs while reducing global emissions.
Our third generation hardened remote monitoring
solutions are designed to live in the most hostile environments,
require minimal power (a small carbon as well as physical footprint),
at minimum cost. At Dantel, while "we're always looking for trouble",
we also find it easy being "green".

Dantel Announces Green ESP for Network Monitoring
Solution reduces environmental footprints for
communications networks with Power Utilization Effectiveness and Extra
Sensory Protection
Dantel, Inc., the leader in network surveillance and
management systems, today announced its Green ESP (Extra Sensory
Protection) solutions, providing operational efficiency monitoring
for communications networks including data centers, central offices and
remote cabinets. Dantel's Green ESP solutions ensure sustained optimal
levels for reducing energy costs and environmental footprints of
heating, cooling, airflow and power which can lead to annual
realized savings of thousands of dollars per site.

Energy Cost Management- PUE and DCiE Defined
The high cost of power requires information and
communication technology (ICT) facilities to fine tune their operations
to minimize energy waste. Dantel provides a suite of WebMon©
Energy Management solutions to address this critical need.
PUE and DCiE Defined
Currently, two metrics, originally developed by the
members of the Green Grid, are being implemented to improve the energy
efficiency of existing and new facilities: Power usage
effectiveness (PUE) and data center infrastructure efficiency (DCiE).

Customer Experience 
The Dantel WebMon Edge was recently selected to monitor a
large array of remote equipment locations in North Carolina. The
versatile WebMon RTU will use the advanced ADSL2+ embedded network
interface to communicate SNMP v2c trap data to the Dantel VisionMaster
Client Server "trapcatcher" platform. Dantel's
VisionMaster will host SNMP traps from multiple Allied Telesis NMS,
Brocade-Foundry and Metaswitch network Elements. "Dantel is
very pleased to be able to aid in advancing this fiber-optic based
network management and remote site surveillance solution", said
Denis Henn, Director of IOC Sales. "The WebMon Edge will aid in
network reliability and security will be enhanced for all sites. This
Dantel solution will also help reduce operating costs as a result of

It wasn't always easy being Green
Dantel's Customer Service group recognized the benefits
of reducing its wasteful practices before it was cool to be Green. The
many installation, operation and user manuals that would print out by
the ream are now a thing of the past. As with anything though there was
resistance to change. Before a PDF was common place many engineers
loved their paper manuals with all of the illegible scribbles along the
margins and substituting these with a document on the computer seemed
foreign to most and as a Dantel Customer Service long-timer I can still
remember those days of babysitting the fax machin e while sending emergency documents
out to a site that needed help.
Technology and the drive to be the best we can be for our customer has
put us in the forefront of efficient service.
The value of any Customer Service group is to be there
when needed and have the information at hand. Dantel's Customer Service
Engineers can carry the entire document library around in their pocket
on a flash drive and still have room for family pictures. With this
