Dantel, Inc. Announces Approval of its PointMaster® Eagle for Deployment in Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier

Fresno, Calif. – (BUSINESS WIRE) – May 17, 2005

Dantel, Inc. the leader in network surveillance and management systems, today announced the product approval of its PointMaster Eagle for deployment in a Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC), the name of which could not be disclosed because of privacy issues. The news is significant because it marks the PointMaster Eagle’s use within the nation’s leading ILECs, totaling over 150 million access lines with a presence in all 50 United States.

The PointMaster® Eagle is a versatile communications network management system that provides concentration, management and reporting of network element events, as well as environmental alarm status. The Eagle (NEBS Level 3/UL certified) is designed to improve quality of service (QoS) by intelligently collecting and reporting mission critical information. The PointMaster detects events, converting and reporting the information into any one of several protocols, including SNMP, TL1, TBOS, TABS or DCP and interfaces to any existing centralized Network Operation Center (NOC) or Dantel’s VisionMaster Micro-NOC™ Management System via TCP/IP or Serial connections.

Several new features and capabilities recently incorporated in to into the PointMaster Eagle include: Historical Alarm Log feature with optional NV-RAM capabilities for retaining alarm history in the event of a power loss. Dual power inputs, expanded telnet craft port access and enhanced transient voltage protection (up to 1,500 volts), exceeding NEBS Level 3 requirements.
